《夢幻女郎》(Dreamgirls)是由黑人主演的歌舞片，全片由始至終都在唱歌，演戲的部份不多，而且在推展劇情的場面，演員也是以歌唱方式表達對白內容，影片中，歌曲精彩，舞台表演絢麗璀璨，愛好華麗歌舞片的觀眾不會失望。
占美霍士
男主角占美霍士飾演一位很有魅力、發奮的唱片公司老闆，但與兄弟姊妹之間並不能同富貴，原因當然是他的自私，把所有身邊人也控制在手裡，反抗他的都要被趕盡殺絕，影片中他沒有太多機會發揮他的歌唱技術，有些浪費了他。
男配角
男配角愛迪梅菲是90年代的黑人喜劇紅星，早幾年《肥佬先生》再讓他回勇，而在該片中，他歌曲表現精彩，演繹一位紅過、失意過的歌手，讓他在金球獎得獎項獲得最佳男配角，他在奧斯卡未能再上一層樓，的確有些可惜。
女配角
珍妮花赫遜飾演的女配角，是該影片中，變化最大而且最有發揮機會的角色，她唱功了得，高音更是厲害，然而，此角色本身並不是甚麼可愛角色，更可以說是有些讓人反感，幸好，她在歌舞片中以歌曲演繹，讓觀眾的焦點轉到歌曲上去，減去了對此角色的不討好。
導演
該片導演比爾干頓把這歌舞片拍攝得富麗堂皇，故事主線以一班主角在樂壇努力向上、發奮為題，但亦有自私心令人成為獨裁者，可以共患難不能共富貴，故事本身並不是甚麼新鮮、奇特，更可以說有些「老套」，然而，在表演、人物、劇情的剪接及細節安排都有水準，但沒有影片特色，除了歌曲精彩之外，說不上有甚麼東西可以讓觀眾留下深刻印象。
